What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They allow websites to remember information about your visit — such as your preferences or whether you have visited before. Cookies cannot execute programs or deliver viruses to your computer.

  • Browser settings — Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Check your browser's help documentation for instructions. Common browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
  • Google Analytics opt-out — Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Affiliate cookies — Blocking third-party cookies in your browser will prevent affiliate tracking cookies from being set. You will still be able to use our site and click links normally.

Note: Disabling analytics or affiliate cookies will not affect your ability to read our content or use any features of this site.

NZ and AU Context

New Zealand does not currently mandate a specific cookie consent law equivalent to the EU's GDPR cookie rules. However, our use of cookies that collect personal data is governed by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and we have designed our cookie use to be transparent and minimal.

For Australian visitors, our cookie practices align with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Anonymous analytics data is not considered personal information under the APPs, but we disclose it anyway in the interest of transparency.
